Choosing between freelancing work and a full-time job is very confusing. But with time changing, now people prefer to opt for freelancing work especially women.
“According to Upwork’s “Freelancing in America” survey, 56.7 million Americans freelanced in 2018, up 3.7 million from 2014. That’s more than 1 in 3 people freelancing.”
Well, everything has pros and cons and so does freelancing. There are many things that you should consider before choosing it as your way of earning. Below are some points that you must keep in mind.
Pros
1) Freedom to choose clients: In freelancing, you have the option to choose your clients on your own.
2) You can control your workload as you have every right to select or leave any project.
3) Flexible timings: The best thing about freelancing work is that you are not bound by the time of 9-6. You can manage your work accordingly.
4) Exposure: With the right to choose your clients, you can get exposure on a large scale by selecting diverse businesses as your clients
Cons
1) Instability: The major drawback of freelancing is unstable income. Sometimes, you will get loads of projects to handle and other times, you will end up getting 1-2 projects only.
2) No benefits: While you may receive a Diwali bonus at times through your clients, but being a freelancer you won’t get additional benefits like PF, Insurance, etc.
3) Isolation: Well, you won’t enjoy all the office fun with your co-workers while choosing freelancing as an option.
